Happy 2016!

Happy 2016! Welcome new and old blog subscribers. There’s a saying in the beekeeping world: Ask 10 beekeepers a question and you will get at least 11 different answers…let me add to that and say: Post a simple question in an online beekeeping forum and you will get as many different answers as responses, AND start an argument over global warming, overuse of plastics in our throw-away-society, and rainforest deforestation!  It’s amazing how a thread can be hijacked so quickly lol. Why Bees?

Here’s where I get all philosophical and explain why we decided to try our hand at raising honeybees… actually, we were going to get backyard chickens until we found out how much work they are and that we’d have to get up at the butt-crack of dawn every day to let them out of their coop. Not for us! Seriously, it comes down to several factors. I have always loved and respected nature and the outdoors, I enjoy gardening and otherwise
